The School Counseling Department is hosting a College Admissions Night to be held on Wednesday, March 18 at 6:30pm in the Auditorium. Admissions representatives will be holding a panel discussion about the college admissions process and latest admission trends. If you are planning to go to college, you do not want to miss this!

Massachusetts Dept. of Conservation & Recreation are hiring Lifeguard Teams for the 2020 Season.  Pools & Waterfronts in Western Mass.  State Waterfronts at Chicopee State Park, Hampton Ponds State Park in Westfield and DAR Forest in Goshen.

State Swimming Pools in Agawam, Chicopee and Springfield.

DCR will provide Lifeguard and CPR Certification Classes to Qualified Candidates, provided you guard for DCR.  Must be 16 years old at time of hire.

Must be mature, attentive and reliable.

Must be able to swim 500 yards in under 11 minutes.

The City of Westfield is seeking applicants to fill several spring and summer skilled seasonal positions for the Parks and Recreation Department summer programs. Positions will be posted from March 9, 2020 and will close May 6, 2020 with candidate selections being made in May. (Subject to funding) All positions must have a Valid Certification in CPR and First Aid required and attached to job application in order to receive an interview. The position is considered seasonal and employees receive no benefits. June 1 – Sept. 8.

Due to the large volume of applications received, not all certified applicants will receive an interview.

Playground Director-Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and hold a current CPR and First Aid Certificate. Director oversees the daily operation of the playground program at a designated city playground. Duties include teaching and supervising children 6-13 yrs. of age, in arts and crafts, games, sports, and special events. Previous experience in a recreational setting or day camp leadership experience 25 hrs. a week.

Playground Leaders -Applicants must be 16 years of age or older and hold a current CPR and First Aid Certificate. Duties include teaching and supervising children 6-13 yrs. of age in arts and crafts, games, sports, special events and environmental education. Experience working with children preferred. 20-25 hrs. a week.

Day Camp Leaders- Applicants must be 18 years of age, or older and hold a current CPR and First Aid Certificate. Duties include teaching and supervising children 5-12 yrs. of age in arts and crafts, games, sports, special events and environmental education. Experience working with children preferred. 35-40 hrs. a week.

 

 

Applications available online or at City Hall-Personnel Department 59 Court Street, Room 109 Westfield, MA 01085.  Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As a condition of employment, all candidates must submit to CORI/SORI (a criminal background check) and complete the Conflict of Interest Law form.
