Attention Students: The Council on Peer Education will be holding a meeting today after school at 2 pm in the guidance conference room. New members welcome.

 

Just a reminder: Quiz Team meets Wednesdays after school in rm. 302

 

Wednesday, December 19th will be Ugly Sweater Day! Submit your ugly sweater photos on twitter by posting a photo and tagging @ Bombersstuco. The winner will receive a prize.

 

Best Buddies permission slips for Bright Nights will be available in rm. 111.

 

The Debate meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to next Wednesday, Dec. 19th in rm. 230.

 

The Galaxy will meet next Thursday the 20th in rm. 105.

 

 

Feeling festive? This Thursday the art club will be hosting a holiday ornament decorating fundraiser after school. Stop by anytime between 2:30- 6:30 in room 105 to decorate beautiful glass or ceramic ornaments.

Students traveling to Spain in April 2019:

There is a mandatory meeting in room 326 on Thurs. 12/13 at 2:00pm. We will make copies of passports and set up rooming assignments. Also, if you are planning to sign up for the trip, this is your last chance to do so. All travelers are expected to attend.

 

Want to make Christmas Trees out of old magazines?? Stop by the Library for instructions and a fun activity.

 

 

The Giving Tree is now set up in the Main Office. Please take a tag to fulfill the wishes of a child in need this Holiday Season. Unwrapped gifts are due back under the tree in the Main Office by Friday, December 14th.

 

Applications for the 2019 Colleen Contest are now available in the Main Office. Applications must be postmarked no later than January 4th.

 

YEARBOOKS WILL BE SOLD DURING ALL THREE LUNCHES ! Yearbooks are on sale now for $70 - that price will go up in January... so ORDER YOURS IN SCHOOL OR ONLINE NOW!  Which cover color will YOU choose?  RED OR BLACK???

 

Guidance

The following scholarships are now available in the Guidance Office:

 

The Horatio Alger Scholarship- This scholarship rewards students who possess the character to succeed in life and needs financial assistance to attend college.

 

Chicopee Savings Charitable Foundation- One applicant will received a $3,000 scholarship

 

Wendy's Heisman Scholarship- This award is given to senior athletes who excel in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.

 

National Co-Op Scholarship- a scholarship geared for the seniors who plan on attending one of the 9 partnered institutions of this co-op program.

 

The A.C.T. Student Champion Award Scholarship

 

Assumption College Light The Way Scholarship

 

New England Board of Higher Education Tuition Break Program

 

The Ann and Tony Odierna Community Service Award (for students in grades 9-12)

 

The University of Dayton Leadership in Service Scholarship

Henry David Thoreau Scholarship - for students interested in environmental studies

Filene's Music Scholarship Competition at Skidmore College-  for students interest in attending Skidmore college, who will major in music and/or liberal arts.

 

FIRE Free Speech Essay Contest-   High school juniors and seniors who have a strong belief in individual rights in education have an opportunity to submit an essay for up to $10,000.
